Changing Hotel Cancellation Policies

Some of the largest hotel chains are revamping their hotel cancellation policies. They are increasing the time required before check in to cancel to 24 or even 48 hours. They are saying this will provide better accommodation for people seeking last minute hotels while reducing the number of unsold rooms per night.

Here is the big players and their new policies:

Marriott International: moving from a 24 hour to 48 hour

Hilton: moving from 24 hours to 48 hours

One shining star in this new era is Inter-Continental Hotels who are maintaining guest relations by cutting their cancellation policy back to the traditional 24 hours.
